Devdas the 2002 Bollywood movie, was a turning point for the Indian Diaspora. The Bangle-Bracelet scene in this movie is Iconic and made popular traditional bangles. Growing up in India, I remember covetting statement bangles (yes openable with a screw), espescially the ones from East India, Bengal. The book written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1901, has been adapted for the Indian Cinema several times. The 2002 movie starring Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan was a treat to watch.
